Finnish record asp - with Jigwobbler

Below is story told by the happy angler.

"It was a sunny wednesday afternoon. Wind was blowing lightly from west and sky was clear. In other words: nearly perfect conditions for big asp.
My targer was again familiar white water spot, Koukkalankoski. It was half past three when I arriwed to the river bank and hopes where high.
Lure which got privilegde to first in the water was 18g Jigwobbler in black-silver color. It allready had gave me plenty of contacts with asp before this spring. It was second or third cast when i felt the familiar aggressive bait. Fish took Jigwobbler allmost immediately when I started reeling it in. Fish came to surface in distance and started its calm but determined journey towards downstream. Fish started its fight exceptionally calm and I thought that it is not so big catch anyway.  But the truth hit me when I tried to give little more pressure to the fish. It didn't obey me but just continued it's way downstreams. I tightened reels brake several times, but fish got help from streming water. I didn't wat to borrow all my lines to the fish so I had to really stop the fish allmost violently, because running after the fish was no option in this place. Light tackle ware at its edge, but the fish stopped. And the real job started from here! I had to reel in the 100 meters of braided line I just borrowed to the fish, and the fis was in downstreams... I think in my mind the fish kept coming bigger and bigger. Finally I got the fish in landing net and it was humangous! I was sure my old record (5,18kg) was beaten. With still shaking hands I weighted this asp. Scale pointer was arond 7kg. Wow!! Minus landing nets weight (650g) this asp was even 6,3kg. Now it was easy to smile.

In checkup scaling with approved scale the weight and length made sure: weight 6330g, length 818mm.
